Apple Designer: Our Products Are Designed At The Kitchen Table

You would’ve thought large corporations such as Apple would meet in a actual meeting rooms. But this isn’t the case with Apple. Many times Apple designers meet at the kitchen table to discuss their products. It’s a weird concept, but it sure does work. Last time I checked the iPhone and iPad were highly successful products.

Apple designer Chris Stringer, via AllThingsD:

“We’ll sit there with our sketch books and trade ideas,” Stringer said, appearing as the first witness in the Apple vs. Samsung trial. “That’s where the really hard, brutal honest criticism comes in.”

From there, the group puts the sketches into a computer-aided design program and, if warranted, creates a physical model.

So this all but proves that great thinking comes from the the mind. The exact location doesn’t matter as long as you combine the minds of these Apple engineers.

What a cool work setting. Give us your thoughts on this.
