The iPhone is an in-depth topic among many forum chatters on the internet. Although the name necessarily isn’t one of the richest rumors currently, the specs sure are. But a recent dispute over the iPhone5.com domain may spark up some speculation over what this upcoming iPhones name could possibly be.
Since the iPhone5 domain was launched in October of 2010 its been home of a small forum used to discuss the iPhone 5. Just this month Apple has for some reason decided to dispute over control of the domain. A claim was actually filed through the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), as noted by Fusible.
In the past Apple has filed similar complaints over products they sell on the market. The difference between this domain dispute, and the others, is the fact of when it was filed. The iPhone4 domain wasn’t disputed until over a year after the phones release. The iPhone 4S though only took a few weeks to be disputed. So what has geared Apple towards rushing to take control of the iPhone 5 domain, especially considering an ‘iphone 5′ hasn’t been released on the market? Could it be the fact that its a popular term, or is Apple planning on releasing a phone under the name ‘iPhone 5′, who knows!
One things for sure though, we will be keeping you updated on the situation and all Apple rumors/news.
