Apple TV Firmware 5.0 Upgrade Demo

The Apple TV has just received a major UI upgrade promptly  after the iPad Media Event. When you first take a look at the interface you’ll take notice at a nice shiny HD picture based UI. But if you take a click on any of the icons you will once again be greeted with the old text based menu’s.

It can be quite hard to explain the niceness presented by the home-panel, so take a stroll on below and check out the demo video. You will quickly understand that the nice new UI extends no further.

Although the upgrade may look nice it currently isn’t in a jailbreak-able state. If you like the Apple TV jailbreak it may be some time before another jailbreaks released. It all comes down to whether this new UI is worth the upgrade.

Now, the new Apple TV will be sold with the 5.0 firmware. It of coarse  will feature the new UI, and 1080p capabilities. Also it features a new dual core A5 processor. But unless you have a TV that can play 1080p its not worth the upgrade.
