Over this past few days many purchasers of the new Apple TV noticed that their devices were being shipped out via Fedex or UPS. Along with the Apple TV, many of the folks who purchased New iPads began seeing their shipment notifications, alongside a “feature delivery requested” note this past weekend. When the Apple TV’s starting shipping out though, we had a feeling they would arrive early, and that seems to be the case according to twitter and various news outlets. Though the official release date is March 16th, Apple has oddly allowed early shipments.
Many reporters claim that yesterday they began seeing Fedex shipping notifications for overnight shipping. There was quite a few people who reported Fedex shipping estimates claiming their Apple TV would be delivered today, while others estimated March 16th, the release day. The picture below, provided by MacRumors, shows a Fedex shipping tracker.
If you look at the Date/Time, the Apple TV shipment information was received at 12:51 PM on March 14th, while the TV didn’t even depart Fedex until 4:19 AM. By examining the Fedex logs it sure does tell a story of how quickly they can ship orders.
If you haven’t checked your shipping notifications than I suggest you do so. Apple is requiring a signature upon delivery on both their Apple TV’s and iPads. You can always complete the pre-sign form and attach it to your door if your worried about missing the doorbell.
But it sure does look like a lucky pre order-er has already received theirs in the mail! Provided by MacRumors, Nan Zi, has received their Apple TV package earlier today. The Apple TV is identical to its predecessor from the outside. Inside the Apple TV contains a A5 chip and the ability to stream in 1080p!
Have you received your new Apple TV yet?
