Apple has just revealed that they’ve sold a total of one million copies of iPhoto within 10 days of the release. We were first introduced to iPhoto during the keynote on March 7th, and they released the application promptly after the event. Between March 7th and March 17th Apple went on to sell over one million copies of the application.
iPhoto comes with a cost of $5.00, which means Apple has made over $5 million from the application sales. Apple hadn’t specifically mentioned they sold one million copies, but they’ve said they reached over 1 million users, which would require the application to be purchased.
Apples iPhoto application was formerly a Mac only application, but has finally transitioned onto iOS devices. You can import photo’s to your device and edit them, but anything above 19 megapixels will be downsized. Also please note, you must upgrade your device to iOS 5.1 before installing.
Currently on the iPad application store iPhoto is rated a 3.5 out of 5. This is also the 18th best-selling application, which is unusual because $0.99 applications are typically the best sellers. To tack more awards on, iPhoto is also the 15th most grossing application on the app-store. Its starting to seem like anything Apple releases, has instant popularity.
Have you tried iPhoto yet? I haven’t, but now I might purchase my copy!
