Just as you thought Apples iPhones and future devices would discontinue the 30-pin dock connector, think again. The iPhone may include a 19-pin connector, but Apple may sell a 30-pin adapter separately , or include it inside the iPhones box.
iMore, also known breaking the 19-pin dock connector rumor during Feburary, is back with this report:
“iMore reached out to the original sources that gave us the new Dock connector story way back in February just to make doubly sure — and yes, there will be an adapter for the iPhone 5′s smaller Dock connector that will let it work with many of the accessories designed for the old 30-pin Dock connector.”
They aren’t able to officially verify if the 30-pin adapter will be included within the iPhones box, or would be a separate product on the market. If I had to personally predict the situation, Apple would probably make the 30-pin adapter a sold separately product because not everyone would find usage of the adapter.
The next iPhone is expected to be released this upcoming fall, in either September or October.
