Apples WWDC 2012 Tickets Sell Out Within 2 Hours

Wow, if you were hoping to attend WWDC 2012 than it looks as if your chance has vanished overnight. The tickets were announced early this morning, and went on sale, but sold out within 2 hours. Even being sold at $1,599 per single ticket they sold out that fast. Sales went on from 1:30 PM until 3:30 PM GMT time. This ultimately means that west-coasters had a chance to catch the news before they went to bed, while many east-siders  woke up to news regarding the sold out tickets.

Compared to years prior, we knew that the tickets would sell quick. In 2010 the tickets sold out within 2 weeks. In 2011 the tickets sold out within 12 hours. We just wish Apple would’ve made the smarter move and sold tickets via a per-region basis, or at the very least begin sales at 5:00 PM Est time zone.

This years WWDC will be held between June 11th and 15th at the Moscone West in San Francisco. The conference is held yearly and features many known iOS developers. This year its possible we see an iOS 6 preview, or another exclusive-type preview at the event.
