Ayecon Winterboard theme takes advantage of Apples retina display

Ayecon is a brand new Winterboard theme that will be released on Cydia come June 8th. In my eyes I can already imagine Ayecon being my all-time favorite theme. I know its unusual you see theme reviews here on DetectApple, but we couldn’t pass this one up.

This theme was created by the one and only Surenix. He is well known in the jailbreak community for designing some nice graphics within themes and tweaks. Even if your not a theme-type person, I guarantee you will take a liking to Ayecon.

The goal of Ayecon noted on ModMyi, was to utilize every single pixel in the iPhones retina display. Everything on your iOS device will feel bright, crisp and uplifting after you install the theme.

Above is your first look at the Ayecon theme. Everything from the background to the icons is very crisp. It really does bring out the potential of the iPhones retina display. Notice that all the stock iOS icons have been themed and auto-masked. Even the 3rd party tweetbot application has been masked. With popular applications such as Twitter and Facebook the developer created custom app-icons even.

Switching back to the regular iOS theme would be one hard task to complete after using Ayecon. I love each and every one of the re-designed icons. I’m quite dazzled on if my reasoning is because I am finally seeing different icons, or I just like them in general.

The developer even went as far to re-design the folders. Notice the background texture and Apple logo. The springboard icons are even blurred out with the custom Ayecon background.

Now, I could go on and on over the unique features of this theme, but I will leave it as a surprise. At this point, just from the homescreen alone I am in love. But I will share one last picture, and its of the Notification center. The rest can be viewed in the video at the very bottom of the post.

And there you have it. Ayecon is expected to be released on Cydia’s Big Boss repository this upcoming Friday, June 8th. The expected price point at the release is $2.99! If its past June 8th go ahead and search for “Ayecon” in Cydia to download.
