bAnd1t Winterboard Theme Review

bAnd1t is an upcoming Winterboard theme that is currently in pre-release. Its supported by the iPhone 4/4s and iPod touch. Its a darker theme, using mostly dark gray,light gray, and a light blue color. The way everything is incorporated really impressed me.

In the example above the lockscreen has a panel presenting the time and date, and below is the default background showing off the Apple logo with a bit of the ‘bAnd1t’ alien theme. Then to the very right is also the lockscreen with blue and silver keys. The springboard shows off the uniquely designed icons along with the dark mask over each icon.

The next examples of bAnd1t now. When your device is plugged in you will have a unique flashy panel presented on your lockscreen. All icons and colors used are designed by the developer himself.

bAnd1t’s iPhone dialer is even shown. I love the silver icons at the bottom, the blue icons on the other hand are just a bit too dark for myself.

Each individual stock application on the iPhone does have its own effect of bAnd1t. The applications aren’t newly re-designed, they just have presence of the blue and silver colors of the theme. Take a look at the calculator and compass, they aren’t really different other than the colors. Even still though, the apps do look much cooler.

If you have Cydia tweaks many of the new and popular tweaks have their own twisted designs. For example, the iOS 6 photos menu tweak. Rather than the typical iOS 6 menu, the colors and icons are changed to match the theme.

Those interested in this Winterboard theme must checkout the official ‘pre-purchase’ thread on the ModMyi forums. The developer is taking purchases for a donation ($2.99). The theme will cost $2.99 once on Cydia (Expected very soon). So until then you can pre-purchase it on the ModMyi thread, just provide the developer flybritn the requested information.
