Best Buy Customers Are Mistaking Samsung Tablets For iPads

In the midst of the Apple and Samsung court case, a very humorous report has mixed in with the Samsung court documents. Apparently a few select Samsung tablets are being mistaken for iPads by customers.  And I didn’t make an error, the report actually stated multiple customers have returned their Samsung tablets for that exact reason.

AllThingsD writes:

Samsung was forced to release a bunch of documents it had been keeping under seal that show the likeness between its products and Apple’s.

Examples outlined in the documents include comments from Samsung workers discussing similarities with Apple’s products, and reports Samsung got from retailer Best Buy that Samsung tablets were being returned because customers thought they were getting iPads.

At this point Samsung is in the process of preventing Apple from using this information against them in court. I can’t imagine this would have a huge effect on the court case though because the purchase was made based on the box, not the physical device.

Some genuine iPad and iPhone prototypes were also revealed yesterday from the court case documents. They essentially strive to support Samsung in proving Apple copied their designs. Take a look, we now have customers and Samsung noticing similarities between the iPad and Samsung tablets, but who was first in the race?
