Calling all gamers! A new Kickstarter project launched just a few days ago that really aims to make mobile gaming more pleasurable. What they call ‘BladePad‘ is a Bluetooth gaming controller that attaches to your iPhone or iPad. Similar to the Playstaton controller, BladePad has dual analog sticks, a D-Pad, ABXY buttons, and L1,L2,R1,R2 buttons.
I’ve seen Bluetooth gaming controllers compatible with iOS devices in the past, but this one is pure genius. The slim controller features a very nice layout design. The feel isn’t anywhere near ‘cheap’ says David Baum:
Bladepad makes use of high quality components and materials to provide a durable device that is built to last. Inside is a powerful micro-processorand Bluetooth module from Texas Instruments. Additionally, Bladepad has a real metal bezel made out of the same lightweight and durable alloy that is used in the iPhone 4/4S. The bezel is actually a solid metal plate that protects Bladepad for long-term use.
As for specific game support, the creators lacked to mention any games. But they did leave us hanging with, “Bladepad will feature game support from both top studios and indie game makers (think ‘top action/adventure and sports games on iOS.’) “
You can back this Kickstarter project for only $69.00 today! Support for that price-tag comes with the iPhone 4S and the upcoming iPhone 5. The iPad pricing wasn’t listed, but you could expect it up on the market during the release of BladePad in December.
Not a bad deal for both an iPhone case and gaming controller, right?
