NowNow is a fresh tweak on Cydia that allows iPhone, iPod, or iPad users to replace Siri with the Google Voice Search application. At times, Siri isn’t the best virtual assistant — and quite frankly many people prefer Google Voice Search over Siri. So whether you want an alternative to Siri, or just a replacement — NowNow has you covered.

Anywhere within iOS, NowNow will assure that Google Voice Search is accessible (just like Siri). Just set up an activator method upon installation and BOOM! You can activate Google Voice Search from where ever using the activation method.

Google Voice Search is fairly similar to Siri, despite not being able to complete functions involving the iOS software. Since the application is run through Google Search, it can only answer so many questions aloud. It can provide weather, celebrity statistics, the time, etc.

NowNow is a completely free Cydia tweak on the BigBoss repository. All that’s required is you have the latest version of Google Voice Search.

Pinch to unlock: Adds a pinch gesture that allows you to unlock the iOS lockscreen

Protube 2: Adds functionality to the Youtube app: such as downloading, quality playback and more

Perfect Page: Allows you to add important information below the status bar on iOS like current time, custom text or available system RAM.

iWidgets: Adds the ability to add widgets to your iOS homescreen with a simple tap & hold gesture. You can align the widgets however preferred — widgets can be downloaded in Cydia.

NoCoverFlow: It removes the coverflow effect and allows users to have a horizontal view of their songs.

SliderSong: Shows the artist,album, or song name on the slider instead of the regular ‘slide to unlock’ text.

DietBulletin: Just as the tweak name states, the popdown notifications are much smaller when the tweak is installed.

WSWallpaper: Allows you to set widescreen wallpapers. Each page of the homescreen will show a different part of the widescreen image.

A new Cydia Tweak called Bridge allows users to download music/video directly on their iOS device and add it to their music/video library. This tweak will require a few other cydia tweaks, but we will get into that later.

How It Works…

On any jailbroken iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad, you will need a cydia tweak called “Safari Download Enabler” to download music or video. We don’t support pirating, but you can find music free of charge by searching Google. The default setting sends all downloaded music over to the ‘var/mobile/media/downloads‘ section of your internal system.

Previously, users weren’t able to transfer music from the internal file system over to the music application. Now with Bridge, users can select media stored in the internal system, edit the text fields, and import the file.

This is a great workaround for users who hate to load music via iTunes every so often. You can find the tweak on the BigBoss repository for $1.99 if you’re interested.

QuickIM is a brand new jailbreak tweak that integrates Facebook messaging and Google talk into the iOS operating system. This is a great tweak for anyone who actively uses either of the two services.

First off, this tweak comes with a jailbreak application that will be placed on your device’s home screen. Just open up the application and login to the preferred accounts. It’s powered by activator, meaning you will be able to select a gesture such as double tapping the status bar to open up the messaging center.

One of the highlight features of QuickIM is the banner notifications provided when you receive a new message. Just click on the banner to quickly reply to the message.

Hopefully in the future QuickIM will add additional messaging platforms such as AIM, Yahoo Messenger, and Skype because these are all popular services to this day. We’ll just have to wait and see.

The default music application within iOS is simple, and that’s something we can all agree upon. It needs a makeover and possibly options for sharing. The jailbreak community is right on the job and has actually released a tweak called ‘Scale’ which will bring sharing options to the default music player.

Scale works like this: when playing a song, press the share icon and you will be presented with options to email, message, and tweet the song you are currently playing. A default message will be created in the following format, “I am listening to [Track] by [Band].”

A few other features brought upon by Scale include the ability to copy the song to the clipboard and add the song to a playlist. These type of sharing options aren’t meant for everybody, but quite a few people should enjoy them.

Scale was initially presented at the World Wide Jailbreak Conference over this past weekend. It is free to download on the BigBoss repository within Cydia today.

One of the most stressful and annoying parts about iOS is the internet concept. If I’m inside of an application, and I click a link, most of the time I am brought to Safari. If all I wanted was to read a quick article, it’s a waste of time to switch in-between applications. So a Cydia tweak called ‘BrowseInApp‘ was released.

With BrowseInApp users will have the option to hold down a link and select ‘Open In App’. Instead of opening up a Safari webpage, a webpage will open up right inside of the application. When you want to back out, click the ‘X’ on the bottom bar to be brought immediately  back.

This is a universal iOS application. An iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad can download this tweak. So if you are interested, search Cydia for ‘BrowseInApp’ and you should find it under the Big Boss repo for $0.99!

ExPDF is a Cydia tweak that will allow users to convert notes taken in the stock iOS Notes application to PDF files. It’s a handy tweak for all you note-takers. More importantly, the PDF format is universally known among all electronic devices.

While in the Notes application, you can select the ‘share’ button at the bottom menu to convert your notes to a PDF. You will then be given the option to email the PDF file or open in iFile.

The long wait is over! All you themers can now download the infamous Ayecon on your iPads. The iPhone version of the theme has been available to download for almost two months, and Surinex has finally finished the iPad iteration of the theme.

If you aren’t aware already, each month I post a list of tweaks I found interesting, along with a small description.
