The Next Generation iPhone Measured At 7.6 mm Thick

This afternoon MacRumors points to a report from Apple.pro of a story in the Chinese newspaper Apple Daily. Allegedly they obtained one of the leaked iPhone 5 devices and took measurements.

As past reports indicated, the iPhone 5 measured in at 7.6 mm thick. Other dimensions and specifications also successfully matched what we’ve heard in the past:

1. The phone is much bigger, measuring 58.47 mm wide, 123.83 mm high and 7.6 mm thin. The screen is 4″.
2. The earphone jack has been relocated to the bottom of the phone.
3. The dock connector is much smaller, similar in size to micro USB.

We can expect the iPhone 5 announcement on September 12th. The date is all but confirmed after 6 prominent sources verified the date in late July.

Are smartphones becoming to skinny these days? The iPhone 4S was perfect size.
