How to install iOS 6 without UDID registration (Completely Free)

Ryan St Onge June 12, 2012 8

If your a bit short on cash and want to upgrade to iOS 6 than your in the right place. Typically to upgrade to iOS 6 beta you would need your UDID registered by a developer, which would cost $5 to $10, but that’s about to change.  A new method has surfaced allowing any users to upgrade their devices to iOS 6 without registering their UDID. Its simple, and anyone can do it!

Before completing any of the steps below make sure you back up your iOS device to your computer and then restore your device freshly to iOS 5.1.1. After thats done you should be ready to follow the steps.

Step One: Make sure you have iOS 6 beta 1 downloaded on your computer. (Links below)

Step Two: Open up iTunes 10.6.3 and plug in your iOS device.

Step Three: Now select your device from the left panel. Hold shift (on Windows) and click the “Check For Update” button. (On Mac hold the option button)

Step Four: Find and select your iOS 6 IPSW and let it install! After your device turns back on, your done. If you get any errors than just restore to iOS 5.1.1

Now, as promised, here are the download links you will be needing. Make sure you download the correct one:

Tell us if this method worked for you. Around 90 percent of users have received success with this method, so it is hit and miss, but worth the try.

Actually it isn’t offline. Click the download link and if you get the offline message keep clicking the refresh until the download starts.

This method is unsupported and will definitely brick your device when attempting to update to beta 2 which will probably be out in a week or so.

Register your UDID to use all betas for a year

Don’t budge in with your advertisements. If you had any idea of what your talking about, all failures can restore back to iOS 5.1.1 without a problem.

As with beta 2, no guarantees this method will work, but even if it doesn’t people can pay to    confirm their UDID then, stay on iOS 6 beta 1, or downgrade if they feel.
