How To Restore SAM Unlock Activation Ticket Using Redsn0w 0.9.12b1

If you were one of the few that were oh so lucky to take advantage of the SAM unlock to unlock your iPhone the few days it was out, and you want to upgrade your device to iOS 5.1.1, than you can actually do so right now. In the past we showed you how to restore your SAM activation ticket manually, but that method is complicated, so now we have an easier way.

This new method involves Redsn0w. The iPhone-Dev team updated the program with a brand new feature that allows users to upload SAM unlock tickets to any jailbroken iPhone. Its an extremely easy process, just read on to learn.

Requirements: You will need your SAM unlock activation ticket in order to restore your unlock. This should have been backed up as a .plist file or .zip file onto your computer. Secondly you will need to be on iOS 5.1.1 and jailbroken. Your baseband must remain the same as it was previously on your past firmware version. To do this you must use Sn0wbreeze (Wind0ws) or PwnageTool (MAC) to jailbreak.

Finally, download the latest version of Redsn0w. Click here for Windows or here for MAC.

Now Lets Begin:

Step 1: Open Redsn0w (If on Wind0ws, run in Administrator mode). Also plug in your device to your computer.

Step 2: Click the ‘Extras‘ button, ‘Even More‘ button, and than the ‘Tickets‘ button. You will now have to find the SAM activation ticket.

Step 3: After you select the activation ticket Redsn0w should soon say the tickets have uploaded. Now all that’s left is to turn off your iPhone, insert your  SIM card, and your iPhone should connect to the network!
