How To Unlock The iPhone 4S – R-SIM III Method

Ryan St Onge April 6, 2012 4

The iPhone 4S is one of the few Apples iPhones that cannot be unlocked for use on other carriers currently. The baseband is not supported by Ultrasn0w and users can currently only use a third party SIM-card to unlock, or purchase an unlocked iPhone 4s factory unlocked. Considering you are here, I am willing to bet you currently own an iPhone 4s that’s in need of being unlocked.

In the guide below I will be teaching you how to unlock your iPhone 4S. This method will cost you money, and you will need your device jailbroke. Look below for all the requirments.

Requirements:

Once you meet the above requirements your good to go and begin the process of unlocking.

iPhone 4S – AT&T Version

Step 1- Turn your device off, insert R-SIM and your SIM card into the iPhone 4s and power your device back on.

Step 2- Open up your devices settings and click Phone, and toggle to SIM Applications. Choose ‘US ATT’ and wait a few minutes

Step 3- Thats all, you should be unlocked!

iPhone 4S Sprint/Verizon Version

Step 1- Add the following repository into Cydia: http://v.backspace.jp/repo

Step 2- Make a search for CommCenter* Patch for iOS 5 and install the package on Cydia

Step 3- Now add the following package into Cydia: http://www.iglive.cn/cydia

Step 4- Search for “iPhone4s Network Package” and install the package on Cydia

Step 5: After your device reboots you can follow the steps from the “At&t” version above.

Thats all! Its is a really easy process overall. This guide was provided by OpinionativeReviewer, all credit goes to him. He also created a video if your having trouble, check it out below.

What iOS firmware are you on? If your on 5.1/5.1.1 you should be good. But if a problem like this is occurring and rebooting doesn’t help than I would suggest a full restore, and then try again.
