iCloud Email Addresses Begin To Roll Out

Today marked Apples third beta for iOS 6. With the beta came a few additional small updates. One happened to be regarding email users that had “@me.com” email addresses. All users with those old emails will be transitioned to the new @iCloud.com address. Along with that, all new users who signup for Apple ID’s (Or users who enable the the email)  will automatically receive an @iCloud.com email.

“icloud.com email addresses are now available for iCloud mail users. Users signing up for new Apple IDs, or enabling Mail on their iCloud account for the first time, will automatically receive an @icloud.com email address instead of a me.com email address. iCloud users with @me.com addresses that have been used with iOS 6 beta 3 will receive an @icloud.com email address that matches their @me.com address.”

So from now on, if you run iOS 6 Beta 3 or above, you will be required to use your new iCloud email to use the syncing services.

As of now this is all the information we have regarding the email addresses. As we discover more content in iOS 6 Beta 3 we will be posting photo’s and video’s. So stay tuned!
