MiOS Winterboard Theme Review

MiOS is a Winterboard Theme by Truckinlow, who is known in the theming community for many past showcase themes. This theme is brand new, and is currently in Beta mode for purchase for $3.00! Its compatible with both the iPhone 4/4s and iPad 3. If you want it on both your iPhone and iPad you will be charged $6.00 though.

Truckinlow describes MiOS as a theme integrating both Mac OS and iOS into one. The theme is very clean, and is ‘universal’. This means each application has its own custom theme. As of now its an On-going project that will be updated as new applications are themed.

The picture above is of the MiOS theme’s springboard. The very first element I notice is of the sharp background that takes full force of your devices retina display. The text on the status bar is even custom compared to the typical iOS font. And what I love the most is the icons! Each and every icon on the stock iOS has a custom design along with the typical mask. The color in the icons really do prove justice for the retina display in my opinion.

When it comes to popular app-store applications and jailbreak apps custom icons are also created. This is all thanks to the developer along with supporters who have submitted icons to the developer. I can almost promise that a large portion of your device will include custom icons. Those that aren’t will be masked to be given its own unique look.

As we mentioned at the top of the article, MiOS does have customly designed applications. Thus far we know the clock application, dialer, music player, messages, clocks, and settings application are re-designed. We could mention so many more, but we would have to list off almost every single stock application. Take a brief look at the dialer application below.

If you aren’t impressed, maybe the integration with Cydia tweaks will boost your thoughts. We surely won’t be able to show you all the compatible Cydia tweaks, but here is SBSettings. Its very clean looking, with the green,red, and silver knobs.

MiOS is currently in Beta, but you can actually pick up a copy today. The developer has a thread over at ModMyi Forums with pages of information along with purchasing information. To purchase, the developer Truck, has a donation banner in his signature below each of his posts. Click on it and donate $3.00 and post your confirmation code on the thread.

The theme isn’t yet out on a repository as it is in beta testing, this is currently the only way to purchase.
