The next iPhone rumors are really starting to pickup just a week after the iPad release. This time popular iOS blog iMore is reporting they have exclusive information on the upcoming iPhone. In the past they have had a great reputation when it comes to reporting accurate information. They actually reported that announcement date for the iPad would be on March 7th, almost a whole month out from the date. They even reported days out from the keynote that the New iPad would have LTE support. Their sources for this iPhone report is unknown, and is likely on the ‘sketchy’ side because we are farout from a release.
Their source claims that the next iPhone will have LTE capabilities, similar sized screen, new connector, and will be announced in September or October. So far we’ve heard rumors about LTE and a 4.6 inch screen. Those rumors came from sources that aren’t as reliable as iMore though, so this is the best development we’ve seen yet. Plus, could you imagine Apple jumping up an inch in screen size, its just not realistic. A 4 inch screen is a more plausible scenario.
So to sum up, iPhone 5,1 is on track for:
- Similar if not same sized screen (currently 3.5-inch but not set in stone)
- 4G LTE radio
- New “micro dock” connector
- Fall/October 2012 release
But as I’ve said quite a few times, we are a longways out from even an announcement. Apple is likely to go through countless numbers of changes and testing on the next iPhone. But one fact we know for sure is Apple will likely make huge changes on the next iPhone after the disappointing iPhone 4s release.
What do you hope the next iPhone includes?
