A flurry of iPod touch rumors and reports hit the web late last night. The first one from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo mentioned that Apple had an iPod touch and iPad Nano in the works. An in-cell panel would allow the new touch to be even slimmer than past models. The release point noted was sometime this fall, more notably alongside the iPhone launch.
The next report comes from Macotakara. This time our source provides in-depth details on the device. An A5 processor, the same core that’s inside the iPhone 4s, and a 4-inch display would be adopted by the iPod Touch. With that, things aren’t finished off with this touch. We could also expect an aluminium back-plate on the iPod Touch rather than a mirror polished design.
With this fall arriving, the current iPod Touch model will become 2 years old, disregarding the addition of the white model last fall. Statistically the iPod touch still has a market as both an MP3 player and gaming device. It just wouldn’t make sense for Apple to throw away a device that has brought success in the mp3 market. Its a great gift for kids for Christmas and even for adults.
A makeover on the iPod Touch would be a first, alongside the iPhone. Both devices have always held the 3.5 inch display, only changing the form factor slightly over the years.
