Nine Decent iPad Mini Alternatives Under $300

Yesterday we posted five cheap alternatives to the iPad Mini, and now we’re back with ten iPad Mini alternatives. These aren’t necessarily the cheapest, they rather are the best performing tablets on the market. We’ve added a variety of tablets that first-time tablet owners along with experienced tablet users will enjoy. Don’t get these two posts confused as you may notice some duplicate entries between them both.

Below we’ve selected ten iPad Mini alternatives that happen to be under $300 and perform on par with Apple’s iPad Mini. They aren’t ranked in any particular order. Each tablet will feature a brief explanation following with specs of the device.

10. Coby Kyros 

The Coby Kyros is an extremely cheap tablet that would be great to purchase for a first-time tablet owner. It’s quite fast and even runs on an updated Android operating system — 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwhich. The Kyros would be particularly great for someone interested in web-browsing, playing basic applications, and other similar tasks. Just note the tablet was designed for heavy gamers.

Priced at just $200 the Ideapad is another tablet perfect for consumers ready to dive into the tablet community. It’s very affordable, slim, and includes all your basic necessities, such a camera, Wi-Fi abilities, and a lovely form factor. It weighs just 0.88 pounds — so it’s not heavy at all. Once again, anyone looking to web browse or view basic applications should be able to use the Ideapad without any issue.

The Acer Iconia 110 surpised everyone on the market. It’s very sleek user interface and design are stunning. Its specs are up-to part with the iPad Mini and may even be considered slightly faster considering the quad-core Tegra 3.0 processor. It runs on Android’s operating system and is suitable for just about any tablet user.

The HP Touchpad is a 9.7″ tablet that fit the criteria for posting. Although it isn’t a 7.00″ tablet, it’s a phenomenal device overall. It’s a heavy tablet, weighing 1.6 pounds, yet it can complete the same tasks as its Android counterparts. The only thing the Touchpad lacks is the applications that Android offers.

Probably the uttermost best tablet on the market for its value, the Nexus 7. The display is widely improved over the iPad Mini with 216 pixels-per-inch along with a quad-core processor. You also can’t go wrong with Android’s latest operating system. Unless your looking for a tablet below the $150 range, the Nexus 7 should work perfect.

2. Acer Iconia a200

The Acer Iconia a110 mentioned earlier in the post is a great tablet, but the Iconia a200 is a larger 10.1 inch version of the tablet. That sounds huge compared to a 7-inch tablet, but actually it’s quite portable. Besides that, the processing speeds and graphics are phenomenal compared to the cost.
