Specks brand new PixelSkin HD Wrap case for the New iPad third generation was one of my most anticipated purchases as far as iPad accessories/cases go. I absolutely loved the model that was released for the iPad 2, so I decided to buy another for my iPad 3.
On the front and back cover of the PixelSkin HD wrap case you will notice a nice pixel-like grid. It certainly is eye-popping in my opinion. There is no writing on the front cover, on the back though you will find Speck, along with their logo. So take a look at the picture below for the real-feel of how the case comes to look.
As you would imagine, this is a folio style case. The cover is four-columned at will fold up to work as a stand. It folds into a triangle, and will create around two to three different viewing angles for your iPad. This is always great for gaming, watching videos, or even working on your iPad with a Bluetooth keyboard.
The material is strong, thick, and has a glossy finish to it. But even with that I believe if you dropped your iPad there is still a chance your screen would crack depending on if the front cover was on or off. The goods news though is there is a clip to help keep your ‘smart cover’ intact with the screen, and that is a huge positive in strength and protection compared to other folio cases.
All ports, including headphone jack, speaker, camera, volume rocker, etc are open fully. Magnets within the cover allow for the iPads sleep/wake function to work when the cover is attached and unattached.
The only huge negative to this case is the fact that your iPad is slightly lose within. Its not to huge of a deal at all, but its just notable enough to say in the review.
This PixelSkin HD Wrap case for the New iPad can be purchased on Amazon from $25.00 to $38.00 depending on if you choose black, purple, pink, blue , or red. This is cheaper than the retail price advertised on Specks official website of $50.00, so Amazon is the best way to go in my opinion.
