Pod2g Has iOS 5.1 Untethered Jailbreak Running On New iPad

Infamous hacker Pod2g has great news regarding the iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak on the New iPad. Just a few hours ago he tweeted out stating he has finally untethered jailbreaked his New iPad on iOS 5.1. As you know i0n1c has had this work completed for awhile, but does not want to release it to the public. Check out Pod2g’s tweet…

“Hey. iPad 3,1 running iOS 5.1 untethered. Next on the list: stabilizing the payload, then trying 5.1.1.”

Just a week ago he also gave the iPhone for on iOS 5.1 the same treatment. Although its completed, much work is still actually left. If these progress updates are a sign of anything, than the jailbreak should be here within the month. The same weekly update process was underwent for the iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak.
