Redsn0w has finally received an update, this one is noteworthy. This is version is 0.9.10b7 and it allows users to jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 on an A5 device. We’ve seen the Corona jailbreak tool for the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S, but this is the very first Redsn0w version to jailbreak those devices. Here is a full list of what to expect out of the jailbreak update:
- It can also re-install the Corona jailbreak for those who accidentally uninstall it.
- When stitching an IPSW, RedSn0w now pulls your SHSH blobs from Cydia.
- More verbose device info: i.e. RedSn0w will tell you if your iPhone3G has the vulnerable baseband boot loader, old exploitable bootrom, etc.
But that isn’t all, the iPhone Dev Team also noted that in the next update Redsn0w users will be able to restore their devices via Redsn0w rather than iTunes. I’ve always had problems myself restoring my devices from a jailbreak, so this will be a great tool.
