Sidecar iOS application makes phone calls interactive; free calls to USA/Canada

A brand new application for iOS devices called, “SideCar” is very quickly gaining popularity. It aims to bring an experience between video calling and voice calls via their ‘Smart Calling’ option. Users will be able to share pictures,video, current location, and contacts during their call if they choose. Best of all is the calls are free in the USA or Canada over WiFi and 3G.

First off, both users will of coarse need the SideCar application for this to work. After that you can feel free to share anything with the other user, or vice versa while inside a call. And the really cool part is that a ‘smart speaker’ feature exists, which will automatically turn the call onto speaker phone if you remove the iPhone from your ear.

Best of all, the application is free! You can’t beat free phone calls on a free application. The only worry is that the application could take up quite a bit of data when you are using it on 3G. The voice calling will not be a data consumer, its the video and pictures you have to worry about. And non-jailbroken users could actually use this application over 3G as a Facetime alternative.
