Here it is, stacking on to the rumors of the iPad Mini. This one is from Tawain Based ‘Liberty Times’. They are reporting that Apple is beginning to move forward and attempt to ramp up production. LG and AU Optronics are the certified companies to provide the LCD panels. Both companies are also currently in the works of shipping the panels out for production at this time. The exact release month wasn’t mentioned, but its safe to say a Q4 release is highly plausible. And if the Kindle Fire refresh is going to happen, Apple will want to release the iPad Mini before or around mid-November.
Apples also notably has a goal to produce around 6-million of the smaller-sized iPads. And since this is going to be near the Holiday release, I sure do hope they raise that goal.
Other suppliers tapped to supply iPad Mini parts include TPK Holding, who will produce 4 million backlight modules,Chemi Innolux who will produce 2 million, and Nissha Printing who will produce all the touch sensors.
As for hardware we really haven’t heard much at all. Various sources have reported a 1024×768 resolution, but I have a really hard time believing Apple will release a non-retina device ever again.
