The third generation Apple TV, announced alongside the New iPad, has finally began shipping. We’ve seen notifications for New iPad shipments since last Friday, but these are the first Apple TV notifications. If you pre-ordered your Apple TV check your email now. All the emails state that the device will arrive on March 16th, however, depending on the distance the package must travel, you could get yours on Thursday. But, keep in mind its also possible that Apple handed Fedex specific instructions to hold the device until Friday(Alike the iPad).
At earliest you could expect your Apple TV on Thursday. If you aren’t going to be home then you might want to use the Pre-Sign for delivery option. Pre-signing consists of signing a note and attaching it to your door.
The Apple TV will officially go on sale at Apple retail stores starting Friday morning at 8 AM. The pre-orders are currently sold out online and shipment dates are slipping. The only way to grab the Apple TV early is waiting in the lines.
