Do you enjoy watching Youtube videos on your iOS device? If that’s the case, I have a noteworthy tip for you. Try to avoid using the native Youtube application on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch.
Why should you avoid the Youtube application? For one, the web-version of Youtube has more features than the actual application. Another reason is its time consuming. If you’re in the web-browser and you click on a Youtube video, you will be redirected to the application, and we all know that takes awhile.
So here’s a tip: Disable the Youtube toggle
To complete this task, go to Settings>General>Restrictions. You then will want to turn the Youtube toggle off.
Now the next time you select a Youtube video in mobile Safari, or another browser, you will not be re-directed to the Youtube application. The only real issue is that you will no longer be allowed to view the Youtube application until the Youtube toggle is turned on. But were disabling it for a reason, right?
The Youtube app hasn’t received an update in years. It’s outdated and very ugly in my opinion.
